EIGHT-WEEK MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR) TRAINING
Who will benefit from the training?
The training is open to women and men. MBSR has been proven to benefit anyone who wants to improve their overall quality of life. However, it is especially useful for individuals who experience any signs or symptoms of stress such as:
During the training, you will learn practices that can be integrated into you everyday life which will help you recognize your physical limits, how stress manifests itself in your body, and the habitual mental and emotional patterns that cause stress and how to relate to them in a more supportive and skillful way.
Personal investment and commitment
The training consists of 8 morning sessions and a day of stillness. The course fee is €295 (including 21% VAT). The fee is discounted because this training is part of the trainer’s accreditation process. Participants will receive 26 hours of training and a workbook and recorded meditations in either English or Dutch. The fee must be received before the start of the training to reserve your spot.
The training is intensive and requires personal motivation as well as a substantial time commitment. In order for the training to have most effect, 45 minutes of daily practice is recommended.
If you are interested but need more information let me know via email and I will send you additional printed information. You can also attend a two-hour introductory workshop in early September at no cost. Sign up for the training or the introductory workshop below.
The evidence: the effectiveness of mindfulness
The effects of mindfulness have been studied scientifically for the past 35 years. There are hundreds of published studies on the effects of mindfulness interventions especially MBSR and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). Research has shown that MBSR benefits individuals that experience high degrees of stress, psychological conditions such as anxiety, panic, fatigue, sleep disturbances and as prevention for individuals who seek to improve their general well-being and create more balance in their lives.
Studies show that mindfulness is proven to increase life quality and engenders positive changes in cognitive and neurobiological functioning. Moreover, mindfulness transforms the way people look at and consequently react to themselves and the people and circumstances in their lives. The broad effects of mindfulness make it of value to many.
While there are many other methods that can help with stress management and personal transformation, including time and priority management and personal coaching for example, mindfulness practices, in my view, serve as an excellent foundational basis for everything else.
